Amy Rupnow
First & Second Grades
Amy was born and raised in the small town of Crown, Minnesota. She earned her degree in Education from Concordia College in 1997 and started her teaching journey with a year in kindergarten in Duluth. In 1998, she made the move to Horicon and joined St. Stephen as the 2nd grade teacher—a role she happily held for 25 years! Along the way, she also earned her Master’s in Education from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2005. In 2022, Amy decided to try something new and stepped into the role of principal. She quickly realized, though, that the office life just wasn’t for her. She returned to the classroom to teach 7th and 8th grade for two years, which was a great experience and a chance to work with some fantastic middle schoolers. Now, Amy is excited to be back with the younger students, teaching both 1st and 2nd grade. She’s thrilled to return to the familiar world of 2nd grade and is looking forward to the new adventure that 1st grade brings. On top of that, she’ll be the advisor for the LEAD program, helping students grow in leadership and personal development.
Amy and her husband, Keith, live on his family farm in Oak Grove. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, crocheting, solving logic puzzles, and learning all sorts of new farm chores.
Nichol currently lives in Lomira/Ashford with her husband, Rodney. She has 3 grown daughters and two son-in-laws. She moved to the area several years ago after a lifetime in Ozaukee County. She has spent most of her time with 4th graders, however, she has taught at every single grade level except Kindergarten. Nichol enjoys family time and events, working in her garden, reading and home improvements. She and her husband have built several homes and have undertaken several whole home remodels – including one in which they added a 2nd story! Nichol’s favorite Bible verses are found in Jeremiah 29:11-13. She relies on these verses daily and they are the foundation of her approach to life.
